Darian K. is an illustrator based in Arizona. She graduated from Parson School of Design with a BFA in Illustration.
She is inspired by her father, a man who had to put his artistic journey on hold to raise his family, to pursue her passion in the arts. Her work is centered around mental illness, friendship, and narratives.
She is aesthetically influenced by Shojo manga-kas, old American cartoons, surrealist paintings, and illustrations from the Art Nouveau period. Her work balances the cuteness factor with creepy details by giving her characters rounded anatomy with thick line work intertwining into cross hatching.
